Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy

You should be able to research binoculars without giving away more information than necessary.

This Privacy Policy explains what information Binocular Logic may receive when you visit the site, contact us, follow an affiliate link, or interact with advertising and other third-party services, and what choices may be available to you.

Policy Details

Last updated: September 11, 2026  ·  Effective date: September 11, 2026  ·  Applies to: binocularlogic.com and its subdomains

The Short Version

Binocular Logic is primarily a publishing website. If you contact us, we receive the information you choose to send. Hosting, security, analytics, advertising, affiliate, email, and other service providers may also process technical or usage information when their services are active.

Information may be used to operate, secure, understand, maintain, and improve the site, respond to messages, manage commercial relationships, and support normal publishing operations.

Third-party websites operate under their own privacy practices. If you leave Binocular Logic for Amazon, Google, a manufacturer, retailer, research source, support page, or another external service, that destination controls how it handles information you provide or generate there.

Information We May Receive

Information you send directly. If you email Binocular Logic, we may receive your email address, name if you provide it, the contents of your message, and any model numbers, screenshots, documents, photos, links, specifications, or other material you choose to include.

Technical information. Systems used to host, deliver, secure, and troubleshoot the site may process information such as IP address, browser and device characteristics, requested URLs, referring pages, timestamps, server logs, error information, and security-related events.

Usage information. If analytics services are enabled, they may collect or derive information about visits, page views, traffic sources, approximate location, device or browser characteristics, and interactions with site content.

Advertising and affiliate interactions. Advertising providers, affiliate networks, and retailers may receive information when an ad is served or clicked or when you follow a monetized link. Binocular Logic may receive reporting such as impressions, clicks, qualifying activity, conversions, or commission totals without receiving the payment-card information you provide directly to a retailer.

Why Information May Be Used

Operate and protect the site

Technical information may be used to deliver pages, diagnose faults, maintain performance, detect abuse, and protect the site and connected services.

Understand what readers need

Aggregated usage information can help show which binocular topics readers find, which pages are useful, and where content may need improvement.

Respond to messages

Information you send may be used to handle questions, corrections, source suggestions, privacy requests, business messages, and model-specific feedback.

Support publication

Advertising and affiliate programs may help support research, hosting, maintenance, content production, and operation of Binocular Logic.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

Cookies are small pieces of information stored through a browser. Websites and third-party services may also use local storage, pixels, tags, referral identifiers, and similar technologies.

Services used for analytics, advertising, security, fraud prevention, affiliate attribution, or embedded functions may use cookies or related technologies when those services are active.

Site operation and security

Some technologies may be used to deliver the site, maintain required settings, protect infrastructure, or detect abusive traffic.

Analytics

Analytics services may measure visits, traffic sources, page usage, and technical characteristics so site performance and content can be understood.

Advertising

Advertising technologies may support ad delivery, measurement, frequency control, fraud prevention, and, where permitted, personalization.

Affiliate attribution

Retailers or affiliate services may use referral identifiers or related technologies to determine whether activity following a monetized link qualifies for a commission.

If the site presents a cookie, consent, or privacy control, you can use that control to make the choices it offers. Browser settings may also allow you to block or delete cookies, although some third-party functions may then operate differently.

Google Services

Binocular Logic may use Google services for analytics, advertising, or related site functions. When a Google service is active, your browser may send information to Google such as the page URL, IP address, browser or device information, and information associated with cookies or similar technologies.

Google may use information from sites and apps that use its services for purposes including measurement, security, fraud prevention, service improvement, and advertising. Whether advertising is personalized can depend on the service, your location, consent choices, and Google settings.

You can review how Google uses information from sites that use its services, read Google’s Privacy Policy, and manage relevant advertising preferences through My Ad Center.

Google service settings, data controls, and retention options can change over time and may depend on how a particular service is configured. This policy therefore does not promise one fixed Google retention period.

Amazon Associates

Binocular Logic participates in the Amazon Associates Program. Some links to Amazon may be affiliate links. If you follow one and your activity qualifies under Amazon’s current program rules, Binocular Logic may earn a commission.

When you click an Amazon link, you leave Binocular Logic and enter an Amazon service. Amazon may process information such as the referring link, browser or device information, IP address, cookies, identifiers, clicks, and purchase activity according to its own systems and privacy practices.

Amazon controls its own attribution rules and may change them. Binocular Logic therefore does not describe affiliate tracking as a permanent site cookie or promise that one fixed attribution period applies to every situation.

For information about Amazon’s handling of personal information, review Amazon’s Privacy Notice. The site’s commercial relationship with Amazon is explained separately in the Affiliate Disclosure.

Display Advertising

Binocular Logic may display advertising supplied by third-party advertising services. Those providers may process information about ad impressions, clicks, browser or device characteristics, approximate location, cookies, identifiers, or related events to deliver ads, measure performance, control repetition, detect invalid activity, and perform other advertising functions.

Personalized advertising, where used and permitted, may take previous activity or inferred interests into account. Non-personalized advertising can still use contextual and technical information for reporting, fraud prevention, security, and frequency control.

Where applicable law requires consent or provides an opt-out right for certain advertising, analytics, storage, sale, or sharing activities, the privacy or consent controls made available on the site govern the choices presented there.

When You Contact Us

If you email [email protected], your message is used for the reason you sent it. Sending an email does not by itself publish your message or subscribe you to marketing email.

Correspondence may be retained for as long as reasonably useful for responding, documenting a correction or request, maintaining security or business records, resolving a dispute, or complying with a legal obligation. Messages that no longer need to be retained may be deleted during normal mailbox management.

Please avoid sending sensitive personal information that is unnecessary for the issue. For most binocular questions, an exact model, configuration, product page, manual page, specification, or article URL is more useful than private information about you.

When Information May Be Processed or Shared

Information may be processed by or disclosed to other parties when reasonably necessary to operate Binocular Logic or when third-party technologies are used.

  • Service providers: Hosting, security, analytics, advertising, email, infrastructure, and other providers may process information needed to provide their services.
  • Advertising and affiliate partners: These companies may independently process information when you interact with their ads, links, cookies, identifiers, or services.
  • Legal requirements: Information may be disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, legal process, or a valid request from an authority.
  • Security and protection: Information may be used or disclosed when reasonably necessary to investigate fraud, abuse, attacks, threats, or risks to the site, its operator, or others.
  • Business changes: If ownership or operation of Binocular Logic changes, information reasonably associated with operating the site may be transferred as part of that change, subject to applicable law and existing privacy obligations.

Under some U.S. state privacy laws, certain advertising or cross-context behavioral advertising activities may be legally defined as a “sale” or “sharing” even where no list of names or email addresses is sold for cash. Where such laws apply, applicable rights and site controls should be interpreted according to those laws and the technologies actually in use.

How Long Information Is Kept

Binocular Logic does not apply one universal retention period to every kind of information. Information handled directly by the site is generally kept only for as long as it remains reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was received, for security and recordkeeping, to resolve disputes, or to meet legal obligations.

Third-party services establish their own retention practices and may provide publishers or users with different settings or options. Their current privacy and retention documentation is the better source for information about data held by those providers.

Information Security

Reasonable technical and administrative measures may be used to protect Binocular Logic and information associated with operating the site. Access to administrative systems and connected services is intended to be limited to people and systems that need it.

No website, server, email service, account, or internet transmission can be guaranteed completely secure. If you believe information associated with your interaction with Binocular Logic has been exposed or misused, contact [email protected].

Your Privacy Rights

Your rights depend on where you live, which law applies, and the type of processing involved. Depending on those circumstances, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, or information about personal data; object to or restrict certain processing; withdraw consent where consent is relied upon; or opt out of certain targeted advertising, sales, or sharing.

Some information associated with your visit may be controlled directly by a third-party provider rather than Binocular Logic. In that situation, the provider’s own privacy controls or request process may be the most direct way to exercise a right.

For requests concerning information handled directly by Binocular Logic, email [email protected] with Privacy Request in the subject line and enough detail for us to understand the request. Verification may be required before a request can be completed.

U.S. State Privacy Rights

Several U.S. states provide qualifying residents with privacy rights that may include access, deletion, correction, portability, and the ability to opt out of certain targeted advertising, sales, or sharing of personal information. The exact rights, definitions, thresholds, and exceptions differ by state.

Binocular Logic does not assume that every state privacy statute applies to the site merely because a visitor lives in that state. Where a law does apply, requests concerning information controlled directly by Binocular Logic can be sent to [email protected].

If a required opt-out or consent control is presented on the site for advertising, sale, sharing, or similar processing, you may also use that control to communicate the preference it covers.

EEA, UK, and Swiss Visitors

Where European, UK, or Swiss data protection law applies, personal data must be processed on an appropriate legal basis. Depending on the activity, that basis may include consent, legitimate interests, compliance with legal obligations, responding to a request you initiate, or another basis permitted by applicable law.

Consent may be requested before certain analytics, advertising, or storage technologies are used where consent is legally required. Other limited processing may be necessary for security, fraud prevention, site operation, responding to your message, or meeting legal obligations.

You may have rights concerning access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, or withdrawal of consent, depending on the circumstances. You may also have the right to complain to the data protection authority responsible for your location.

When You Leave Binocular Logic

Articles may link to Amazon, binocular manufacturers, retailers, manuals, research sources, support pages, activity organizations, and other external websites so readers can verify information or continue a buying or ownership task.

Those destinations are separate businesses and services. Their owners decide what information they collect, how long they keep it, and what they do with it. A link from Binocular Logic does not make this site responsible for another website’s privacy practices.

Before entering personal, account, or payment information on an external service, review the privacy information and terms provided by that service.

Children’s Privacy

Binocular Logic is a general-audience information website and is not directed to children under 13. The site does not knowingly ask children under 13 to provide personal information through its content.

If a parent or guardian believes a child has sent personal information directly to Binocular Logic, contact [email protected] so the situation can be reviewed and appropriate action taken.

When This Policy Changes

Privacy practices can change when site features, infrastructure, analytics, advertising providers, affiliate relationships, or applicable laws change. This policy may therefore be revised from time to time.

When the policy is revised, the Last updated date near the top will be changed. If a future change materially alters how information is collected, used, or shared, additional notice may be provided where appropriate.
